We truly thought we had seen—or smelled—it all when it comes to bizarre scented candles. There was the meatball-scented candle from IKEA, the Vlasic pickle candle, and how can we forget that surprisingly savory candle that smelled like a Thanksgiving feast?

Well, D.S. & DURGA has upped the ante on oddly scented candles with their Pasta Water candle. The candle serves as a collaboration between D.S. & DURGA and Jupiter, an Italian restaurant in New York City.

"When Jupiter approached me with this idea, I was excited. It’s up our alley. Real pasta water is a quiet ambient scent," a statement on the D.S. & DURGA website reads.

Similar to what you would experience during a quick hover over a pot of boiling pasta, the Pasta Water candle boasts top notes of saline water and heart notes of semolina wheat. Curious about the candle's base notes? Well, that the chef's secret.

"Here’s a candle full of faint umami depth that steams out of their magical pasta pots," reads a description of the seven-ounce candle.

We hate to break it to you, and we really thought we'd never say this, but pasta water doesn't come cheap. D.S. & DURGA's Pasta Water candle retails for $70.

The umami-heavy Pasta Water candle doesn't serve as the only unique scent from the candle and fragrance brand. D.S. & DURGA also sells a Concrete After Lightning candle—a unique offering that flaunts notes of electricity, panic grass, summer rain, and steam.
